Gonda-Bastian started his writing career in the late nineties with scripts and concepts for commercials and industry films. During further filmmaking training at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, California, Gonda-Bastian received basic training in fictional script-writing by LA-based writer Crickett Rumley.

The screenwriter continued to collaborate with him and tutored him during the writing of his first feature-length script - “The Norwegian Project.” Since then
Gonda-Bastian has written various award-winning fictional short film scripts. He finished “The Downward Spin” - his second feature film script - in early 2005. The screenplay currently awaits production.
